Get startedSuccess Rates
Frozen eggs from Aphrodite Egg Bank show a maximum clinical pregnancy rate of 78% on the first embryo transfer. This clinical pregnancy rate on the first embryo transfer was achieved when good quality sperm from a sperm bank was used.
When husband’s sperm was used, the pregnancy rate was impressive at 60%.
This shows:
- Frozen Eggs from Aphrodite Egg Bank perform very well if the sperm is of high quality and the thawing procedure is done correctly at your local clinic.
- Sperm quality affects the success rate

Screening Process
All our donors go through a very strict screening process that meet the requirements of EU Tissues and Cells Directive, HFEA (UK), FDA (USA) and Health Canada. A detailed interview is conducted to gather:

Choosing an Egg Donor is a special and personal experience. This is why we created our online database
to help you find the perfect donor.

Genetic Testing
All donors are tested for up to 302 recessive genes, including Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Fragile X and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) which are the most common. This level of genetic testing is one of the most advanced in the world in egg donation treatment.
Something that we believe is unique to our egg bank, is that we keep DNA sample for all donors indefinitely at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, allowing us to perform additional tests in the future if necessary.

Competitive Pricing
We believe Egg Donation should be accessible to everybody who needs it, which is why we have developed highly competitive pricing plans without compromising on quality.
Anonymity
All countries have different rules and regulations about anonymity.
In countries that require donors to be anonymous, the offspring and parents do not have access to the donor’s identity at any point in time. With non-anonymous donors (or open donors) the offspring (but not the parents) can request for the donor’s identifying information at a certain age (14, 16 or 18 years old).
Sperm and egg banks around the world are obligated to follow the rules of each country when they ship gametes to be used for embryo creation and transfer. Aphrodite Egg Bank also follows this policy in dealing with clients from other countries.
International Accreditations
We follow guidelines and regulations to meet international standards.
- EU Tissues and Cells Directive Licensed
- FDA Licensed (USA)
- Health Canada Licensed
- HFEA Compliant (UK)
- Ireland Compliant
- Sweden Compliant
- Austria Compliant

Egg Plans
We offer the above guarantees, provided that the sperm used meets the World Health Organisation (WHO) criteria for normality and the egg thawing process is carried out correctly at your local IVF Lab.
- If fewer embryos than the number guaranteed are created, for example 1 blastocyst instead of 2, then the recipient has two options: either take the 1 blastocyst and pay less or we can use more eggs until at least 2 blastocysts are created.
- If there are zero embryos created, then the recipient has no financial obligations to Pedieos IVF Center.
- 3 and 4 Blastocyst guarantee packages are also available upon request.
These are donors in our database with low remaining number of eggs due to high demand; most of them also have proven fertility.
Donor Matching with Recipients

a. Phenotype Matching
In order to find the best donor match for you, please fill out the Recipient and Donor Characteristics (Form 2), detailing your own characteristics as well as the desired characteristics of the donor. This information, along with a few photos of the woman recipient and the sperm provider will help us find the perfect donor for you.
A dedicated coordinator will send you the best matching Donor Profiles to review. If you are not fully satisfied with the donors provided, the coordinator will continue to provide additional options for you until a donor is selected.

b. Genotype Matching
The donor is tested for 301 recessive genes. A genetic disease is only passed on to the offspring if the sperm provider also has that recessive gene. If the sperm provider (partner or sperm donor) would also like to get tested to make sure there is no genetic match with the egg donor, this can be arranged.
